Barry
Barry is a good show, not a great show. It is a good show with great moments. It can be funny, but like many sitcoms these days, it is stripped of humor at times, not as bad as Atlanta, but still not a pure sitcom. The great moments come from the violence, and this show has plenty of violence. It comes at shocking times and hits hard. The cast is good, Bill Hader is great as a tortured vet/hitman that wants to move on and be an actor. The best moment of acting is from his breakdown after shooting his best friend, who in turn was freaking out over shooting someone to save their own lives. The way the show ends is almost a perfect way to end the series, that shit can remain the same, or it can be kept quiet. I am not sure if i will watch a second season, but the first was definitely good.
Silicon Valley Season 5
A once brilliant series started off in a very poor way. The jokes & plots began to feel like network sitcoms plots, but slowly, the show returned to it's former glory. When this show is great, it is truly great. I see one more season, cause each season they seem to gain another victory, and this season was their biggest!
Ghost Stories
Ghost Stories was a good film that seemingly has gone under the radar. It started off really well, with a reality show that debunks haunting. The first segment has a great aesthetic and some genuine good jump scares. The second segment begins in a super creepy way but the end result seems like a joke. The third segment begins pretty good, and ends in a surreal way but it doesn't seem to know what to do with the surreal nature. and the film then turns into an entirely different flick. I love the aspect of the human mind and subconscious thoughts but the film felt like David Lynch lite, kinda of like someone that wasn't too familiar with Lynch but wanted to make a film that resembled his work. It was good, it was entertaining, but it needed to decide what type of film it was, and run with it.

Cobra Kai
I love the original Karate Kid, the sequels are okay, but the trailer for Cobra Kai kinda left me luke warm at best, fuck a duck, was i ever wrong. This is a kick ass, awesome show drenched in nostalgia, badassery, and gives no fucks. The characters are super developed and likable, it gives perspective as to who is a bad guy and who is a good guy. Was Johnny the bully in the original? Maybe, if you see it through Daniel's eyes, but through his own, Daniel was the antagonist. We see that happen with Johnny's son, and Johnny's neighbor, one starts as the heel, the other the face, then they switch roles, but do they really? No, it is all about perspective. The humor is great, whether it be in nods to the original or Johnny's un pc way of life, but it isn't too funny where it is forced or distracts from the plot. The plot is the driving force, and the writers do an amazing job presenting developed characters going to a setting to have a show down, this is a better built fight than anything from this years Wrestlemania. The way the finale ends is perfect, fucking perfect. With only 10 thirty minute episodes, this is a fast watch, none of the episodes have bad pacing and it is a quick binge. So many shows, even ones i like, i'm all, meh, i could care less if it comes back, no sir, not this horse, i can't wait for this show to return, it is fucking FANTASTIC!

Atlanta Season 2
Wow, just wow, what a powerful season. From Get Out esque episodes, to confederate frats, to childhood bullying & suicide, this season had many MANY great moments. The first season was a drama disguised as a sitcom with moments of weirdness & surreal absurdity. Season 2, two years later, the show knew what it was, had won awards, but stayed true to itself. More social commentary, surreal episodes, and it pretty much stripped itself of humor, this isn't a funny show, it has funny moments, but that is about it, this here, is a powerful show. We'll get episodes focused on supporting casts, episodes that have nothing to do with others, and total flash backs that bum the fuck out of you. Even if they take off another 2 years, so be it, the show is great. The finale wasn't the best of the run, but that is the brilliance, it set up season 3. What will happen next? FX has found their new Louie, nay, it may have dethroned Louie. Thank you Donald Glover!
