Vicious Fun is indeed a vicious flick and it is super fun. The tale of a horror magazine writer stuck with a group of serial killers is a bit similar to Murder Party, and now i just want this as a double feature. It feels like Murder Party crossed with Guns Akimbo, i could even see Samara Weaving starring in this. Fast paced, dark humored, colorful, full of horror love, and oozing blood, this is easily the best Shudder flick since The Mortuary Collection.

An Unquiet Grave
An Unquiet Grave is a great concept, dead wife, twin sister, resurrection, shit hits the fan but you can't really sink your teeth in to it. There is an impending sense of doom and mystery but it all feels cluttered. I wish it was either 30 minutes shorter or 30 minutes longer. It would have worked as a short or with more story.

Superdeep
Superdeep is one of the most interesting yet most boring Shudder films. Great concept, Journey to the Center of the Earth meets Underwater, but the characters are bland, the tension is not tight and the horror the pops up at the end doesn't feel like a slow burn it feels like too little too late. The ending i give props to but i just wish this had more innovation.

The Amusement Park
I had always read that George Romero's Amusement Park was bonkers. His educational film turned piece of avant-garde surrealism is every bit experimental and bleak as i thought it would be. It's great that in 2021 that you can finally see films from both directors of Dawn of the Dead that many assumed would never see the light of day. Unlike the other this one only clocks in at 54 minutes.

Caveat
Caveat is one i wasn't really familiar with until a couple weeks ago. It had good buzz and like most Shudder originals i planned to check it out. Upon seeing the trailer i thought it looked bonkers but that film is far from bonkers. It is a slow burn, which is a good thing, but it is so by the numbers. I didn't need Insidious insanity but i thought it'd atleast be interesting. I was bored watching this, maybe i was just off of supernatural cause of Conjuring 3 but damn if this wasn't a bad day for horror.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
So James Wan is a guy i fell for in 2011 with Insidious, the then did his masterpiece 2 years later in The Conjuring. That masterpiece hit me hard and delivered legit scares and a great atmosphere with great acting. By time we got to the sequel we had some spin offs. Said spin offs ranged from awful to so so. The sequel was good but no where near the achievement the first was. The first scene in the third chapter made me think "this is it, this will be worthy" but ultimately it crumbles. The plot is everywhere, feels overly jumbled and without focus, the characters feel like SNL parodies and the horror elements have been done better on shitty Shudder films. Maybe it needed Wan at the helm or maybe it is just time to cast this back to hell.
Lucifer Season 5 Part 2
The Second Part of the Fifth Season of Lucifer is the show at it's best. For years it had been a show about the characters but not so much the plot, but here we finally had a bit of threads tying episodes together. We also finally got into the horror/fantasy aspect that has only been teased in previous years. Some musical numbers, some sole character centric episodes and some genuine shocking moments made this the best the show has even been.
