Like most wrestling bio pics, Queen of the Ribg takes liberties, but much like the current batch of wrestling films, it's pretty fucking great. The story unravels perfectly and is even more telling for today's world, the acting is great, the cameos are fun and the film seems to truly come from the heart.
I love Bong Joo Ho, hos work is magnificent. I. 2014 he crafted his masterpiece in Snowpiercer, a Sci fi film wrapped in pulp. Now he tried to recreate 6hst with Mickey 17. Here there are things to admire, beautiful shots, a couple of chuckles(not as many as the audience let you believe with their non stop laughter), some heartfelt moments, Steven Yeun chewing scenery and a great performance by Roberrt Patinson,the best portion though were the aliens, great ark and design. The rest of the film....not so much. The plot had great ideas but the story was boring, the dialogue was cringey, Mark Ruffalo while I respect the take on Trump, was too over the top, distracting and made me tune out whenever he was on. It was overly long and dragged many times. I will still tell people to check it out for it's weirdness but for me this was a chore.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider Man is a fun show. It takes place in an alternate MCU, so it is different enough with adding familiarity. The episodes have wit and humor along with some great animated action. It's not a kiddie show, it isn't an adult show, it's just a well rounded comic book series.
