Young Adult Books being adapted into films is nothing new. Plenty claim it started with the Hunger Games, but a year before the first Hunger Games was the last Harry Potter. Sure one is wizardy, the other is dystopian, but both are young adult. If anything, Maze Runner and Divergent are part of the young adult dystopian films, and both are better than the Hunger Games, and the Maze Runner flicks are the best of the best. Each entry gets better and better, if you want horror, this is horror. Zombies, blood, well in a PG13 variety, are plenty, but we get such a human story, the characters you care for, and their goal is something you want to see succeed. I have a blast with these films, i will gladly take any of these films over any of the Hunger Games flicks any day.
