Across the Spiderverse

It's a bit more overstuffed than the first but the characters, action scenes & imagery continue to make the Spiderverse series a figure collectors wet dream......or atleast it should be. Here we get new variants, too many variants, returning favorites but ones that feel like shells of their former selves and some multiversal twists that over convolute things. Add in new dynamics, morale, & dilemmas and you could have an interesting story, it just never takes off and proceeds to drag for 2.5 hours. Is it overly long? Yes but it still flows surprisingly well during some action scenes, just could have used some trimming to make it a little less boring. Even more than the first it feels like a fever dream done at breakneck speed. Ending it on a different note is the perfect part 2 formula and leaves you wanting more, i just wasn't fully invested until the end, i just hope the third doesn't feel as stuffed.
