The Holdovers might not just be Alexander Payne's best film but it also might just be the best film of the year. From the start it is instantly beautiful and feels like pure cinema at its finest. We meet flawed characters, flawed characters with layers, and as the film goes on we see these layers peeled back. It's honest, heartfelt and raw, all in a poetic way!
