James Mangold has always been a solid director so much in fact that his name sold me on Ford vs Ferrari. The trailer looked fine but a film about a race could have been super boring, luckily with Mangold at the helm, a witty script and some fantastic acting it turned out to be a great film. The most fantastic of all the acting is Christian Bale. He takes what could have been a wooden role and adds so much depth that he captivates you in a performance that might go down as one of his very best.
