Space Jam: A New Legacy

The trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy did nothing for me and the reviews didn't do it any favors in the hype department. The reviews though truly don't matter as the original did not garner close to glowing reviews. The original is pure nostalgia, i truly doubt anyone over 16 or so even cared much for it when it first came out in 96. I loved it because i loved the Looney Tunes and i loved Michael Jordan. The original i have watched since then and it honestly is not a by the book "good film" but it is still an awesome time, and neither is this but so is this. People trashing on this would also trash on the original. What the original had going for it was Michael Jordan. Him in 1996 was the right guy at the right time, Jordan was on a level most other athletes never reach, Lebron James included. The original felt more authentic than this as the plot, acting and connection to the Tunes is a bit contrived but just roll with it, it's Space Jam, it's not Memento. If you're a fan of the original but blinded by nostalgia, you might hate it, if you're a fan of the Looney Tunes you might get a kick out of it, if you're a Lebron fan you might dig it. If you like finding easter eggs in the vein of Ready Player One then you might have a good time. Shut off your mind and enjoy!
