The Boy Behind the Door

The Boy Behind the Door feels uncomfortable from the start, as a film about a kidnaping should. The tone remains relatively bleak throughout. There are some twists and turns, plus some audience cheer moments and the tense ride is told tightly and wrapped up nicely. It is a simple story yet highly effective, possibly elevated due to the great acting by the two child actors. I thought this would be one of Shudder's chore films but it wound up being one of their best.
