The Invitation gave away alot in the trailer but the concept was still intriguing. The film itself moves at a snails pace but it has a super likable lead in Nathalie Emmanuel. The plot from the trailer doesn't even seem to start until the final act, before that it is just exposition. The dinner scene had some decent imagery, and the "escape" with the elderly couple had promise but didn't not. A supposed vampire film it ignores mythos all while not even creating its own. It is a boring mess with a rushed ending, what the fuck moments of sloppy filmmaking and an final scene that feels like a tacked on stinger.
