I love Charlie Day, i love It's Always Sunny, i love his bit roles and i was excited for his directorial debut, Fool's Paradise. All star cast, a irreverent plot, an unhinged vibe, what is not to love? Well most of the film. It is dull and feels beyond choppy. Jason Sudeikis as usual is the saving grace along with Common. It finally picks up in the last act and truly embraces the bonkers nature. It still ultimately feels like a missed opportunity.
