Cobra Kai

I love the original Karate Kid, the sequels are okay, but the trailer for Cobra Kai kinda left me luke warm at best, fuck a duck, was i ever wrong. This is a kick ass, awesome show drenched in nostalgia, badassery, and gives no fucks. The characters are super developed and likable, it gives perspective as to who is a bad guy and who is a good guy. Was Johnny the bully in the original? Maybe, if you see it through Daniel's eyes, but through his own, Daniel was the antagonist. We see that happen with Johnny's son, and Johnny's neighbor, one starts as the heel, the other the face, then they switch roles, but do they really? No, it is all about perspective. The humor is great, whether it be in nods to the original or Johnny's un pc way of life, but it isn't too funny where it is forced or distracts from the plot. The plot is the driving force, and the writers do an amazing job presenting developed characters going to a setting to have a show down, this is a better built fight than anything from this years Wrestlemania. The way the finale ends is perfect, fucking perfect. With only 10 thirty minute episodes, this is a fast watch, none of the episodes have bad pacing and it is a quick binge. So many shows, even ones i like, i'm all, meh, i could care less if it comes back, no sir, not this horse, i can't wait for this show to return, it is fucking FANTASTIC!
