This is Gwar is one of the best rock docs in years. It celebrates the music, the fandom, weirdness, horror, everything Gwar embodies. It goes in depth and maintains a fun vibe but it has alot of heart and knows when to be serious!

The Gray Man
The Russo Brothers kill it with Marvel. I always thought if they did a Winter Soldier type film on their own that it could be great. Well Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling are both good here but the material feel like every other generic espionage film the past 10 years. Action is good and the film is stylish but the story is bland and it is overly long. I will still check out Cherry once i get Apple in the fall for Ted Lasso.
Nope
Jordan Peele is three for three. Each film has been amazing, and while i still prefer Us, this here is another masterful slice of cinema. The impending doom that he has given us previously continues here. Speaking of doom, the sense of dread is probably the highest for an extraterrestrial film since Signs, if not even They Live. Take Close Encounters of the Third Kind and inject terror, that is what Peele is presenting us. The imagery is haunting and beautiful, this is probably his best looking film. The characters are great, as is the acting. There is a Tarantino touch of non linear storytelling he uses that has a touch of Italian horror added in which makes the suspense that much tighter. Also on the Italian side there is some spaghetti western elements mixed in that makes the last act feel epic.

Moloch
Moloch is a pretty damn atmospheric horror film, super flawed but hella atmospheric. It carries a cold vibe the entire film and has an classic horror aesthetic but the plot never really finds itself. Lots of padding in almost an Italian sort of way but the horror moments while eerie at times ultimately feel unintentionally humorous.

Solar Opposites S3
Season 3 of Solar Opposites i felt was going to be bland. Season 1 was great, season 2 was better, i for some reason assumed 3 would run its course, but yet again it is even better. Funnier, smarter, increases the sci fi nature, and yes the ant farm subplot is seemingly a co plot.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is one of the funniest comedies and best action films in quite a while. Nicholas Cage playing Nicholas Cage is perfect, he gets to be unhinged Cage that many of us love, all while essentially being a more main stream cage at the same time. Pedro Pascal is doing his best work here and the two have great chemistry and multiple layers. It is an inspiring film in terms of creativity as well as it's meta nature. It's style oozes John Woo, the film's awareness has an essence of Hot Fuzz, and the overall film love is perfect and knowledgeable, from German Expressionism to summer blockbusters. If you love Cage's 90s films this is perfect for you as it leans heavy on them, but if you are more of a fan of his more gonzo work then there is also plenty to love. From Wild at Heart to The Rock, from National Treasure to Mandy, it covers it all.
Uncharted
I played Uncharted for like 5 minutes once at a friend's house back when it first came out, so i never had an attachment to it. The trailer looked quite generic yet fun, and that is what the film is. The film is fun but hella cluttered. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for most scenes and it feels like alot was omitted. Mark Wahlberg & Tom Holland both seem to be having a good time but damn, their characters never really develop and at times seem to be playing different characters, not to mention alot of their action is beyond far fetched. It is not a dull film but this is easily Ruben Fleischer's weakest film.

Good Madam
Good Madam, *sigh*.....stop me if you have heard this....the latest from Shudder, is a film that looks great but moves at a snail's pace. Oof, this film looks great and seems like the director could tackle a A24 film but fuck, this film was dull. Had atmosphere but i was beyond bored with it.

Ms. Marvel
I didn't know that much about Ms. Marvel going in to her series. I knew her ethnicity and some of her powers, but i never read the comics, i think she may have popped up in a couple crossovers in recent years but i was going in relatively blind. I thought the trailer looked very CW and figured this might be an MCU show to struggle with. However the pilot is easily the best of all the MCU shows, it is fun, fast paced, whimsical and colorful as fuck. Marvel had the chance to let Edgar Wright direct Ant Man but it fell through, Ms. Marvel feels like an Edgar Wright film. The quirks, the editing, it feels pure Scott Pilgrim. As the show went on it introduced more characters and more lore and sets up future films. This is easily my favorite of all the MCU TV series.

On the 3rd Day
There are films so bad they are painful, there are some films so bad they are good. On the 3rd Day falls in the middle. It is fun to mock, but not quite fun enough like The Room but it is still quite painful to watch, i legit felt sore. The dialogue, dubbing, acting, plot, sets are all abysmal. The creature design looks cool but that is the final 10 minutes.

Thor: Love & Thunder
MCU is on a hot streak, their previous two films were awesome, and Thor: Love & Thunder adds to that. None of the Thor films are perfect, the human aspects of the first two bog them down, and some of the humor in Ragnaok don't stick and those same issues pop up on here. Some of the jokes are cringe, looking at you hand grenade, but luckily the more Earth based characters are non existent. Thor films work best in Asgard and in space, and we get plenty of cosmic Marvel goodness here. Some of the MCU's more striking visuals are in this, and not just Tessa Thompson, but the space whales and the entire b&w moments are beautiful. The Guardians are still my favorite in the MCU and their scenes are perfect GOTG moments plus they don't overstay their welcome giving time to other characters. MCU has also been doing better villains lately, and Christian Bale as Gorr is no exception. He has layers, feels menacing and Bale, as always, knocks it out. The film has a great soundtrack, cool battles, a fun vibe and alot of heart.

Strange New Worlds
I could never get into Star Trek Discovery so i figured the spin off would be more of the same, but Strange New Worlds might be my favorite Trek series since TOS. It is refreshing in this era of serialized TV to get episodic shows, and this does it great. The characters are fantastic and have perfect chemistry, the stories are classic Trek but feel modern. Some of the greater universe connections don't quite stick(mainly in the finale, which is still a great episode) but it is a perfect throwback to Trek of old all while feeling fresh.

Baymax
Bayman, the "spin off" of Big Hero 6 is a fun & cute little show, but you can watch all 6 episodes in the span of an hour. I wish it was a full fledged series. Everything was wrapped up nice & tight though. It has alot of great topics involving small business, anxiety, orientation, puberty, homelessness and friendship.

The Lost City
I had no intention on seeing The Lost City but i have a subscription to Paramount Plus for a few more weeks and it is on there, so why not? The first act is a bit rocky, and not all the jokes work, but once they arrive at the island the action is solid and the jokes have some chuckles. Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Brad Pitt are all having a blast. Sandra Bullock is Sandra Bullock and makes the material work. The last act gets a bit sappy but it has charms. The stinger comes along though and while worth a watch as a deleted scene, it derails the film even though it is already over. Totally unneeded.
The Princess
The Princess is dumb fun, most of it makes no sense but it is fast paced, has the beautiful Joey King kicking ass, has a strong message and plenty of blood. Outside of Nobody, none of the Wicksploitation films have been great, but this atleast changes it up by placing it in medieval times. Far from great, but plenty entertaining.

Hustle
I'm not a big Adam Sandler fan, i prefer his dramas over his comedies for the most part. I'm also not really a sports guy besides wrestling, but i used to be a big Sixers fan. It's also the Fourth of July and i rarely do anything on this day so i figured i'd check out the Sandler Sixers flick. It is well acted and has a good plot along with some genuinely funny moments. Much like Uncut Gems however i can admire it but admit i probably will never watch it again. But for those that love basketball or even Sandler, there is alot to love.
Jerry & Marge Go Large
Jerry & Marge Go Large is a sappy, contrived & eyerolling film that feels like it should have come out in the 00s, but it has charm. Most jokes fall flat but the story is light and keeps the pace going. It is sad Bryan Cranston has become this type of actor but atleast he appeared to be having fun. Take Walter White, the sadsack aspect, make him less depressed and not in as big of a rut, instead of a chemist he is an accountant, instead of cooking meth he finds a loophole in the lotto. It's far from a bad film, in fact it is a perfect Sunday afternoon film but still feels forgettable. I honestly forgot i watched it 6 hours ago. I enjoyed it but nothing i'd ever tell someone to watch, unless maybe they truly love math.
