The Power of the Dog is quite the jumbled film. The plot is everywhere but it slowly...slowly unravels and has a pay off at the end where everything kind of....kind of makes sense. This is a weird western, one of the weirdest westerns not just in recent memory but ever. It might be the most homo erotic western ever too, more so than Brokeback Mountain. The gay innuendo is everywhere. At first it is subtle or hinted at but the last half it explodes everywhere. Some damn fine acting and a weird script carry this film but i wish it embraced the weirdness a bit more.
